We encourage you to contact your insurance provider to learn if your plan includes out-of-network benefits for mental health services. You may qualify for full or partial reimbursement for sessions. Therapeutic Approaches
We use a wide variety of innovative, evidence-based therapies to meet your unique needs. Learn more about our most frequently used approaches below.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is an innovative therapy approach focused on treating trauma. The treatment is structured and targets traumatic memories which have become “stuck” in the brain. EMDR helps the brain effectively reprocess these memories. EMDR is unique in that it often does not require extensive exploration of the traumatic event(s), often resulting in more efficient resolution and healing. A key aspect of EMDR is the use of bilateral stimulation, often in the form of guided eye movements, hand-tapping, and/or audio tones, while the client focuses on the traumatic memory. This permits the client to integrate them into the broader context of their life experiences.
IFS
In Internal Family Systems therapy, the mind is seen as a system of parts, each with its own perspective, feelings, and goals. These parts are thought to play different roles in a person’s system. A primary goal of IFS therapy is to help these parts release the burdens they carry in response to difficult life circumstances. This process allows parts to become integrated and return to more adaptive functioning led by the client. Guided by the therapist, clients are empowered to trust the wisdom of their internal system, aiding them in increasing self-awareness, emotional regulation, and internal harmony.
CBT
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a popular and effective form of psychotherapy that focuses on the interconnection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This structured, goal-oriented approach helps individuals identify and change maladaptive thinking patterns and behaviors that contribute to their emotional struggles. CBT empowers clients by teaching them practical skills they can use outside of therapy, making it an especially effective and long-lasting form of treatment for a wide range of mental health concerns.
DBT
Dialectical Behavior Therapy is a comprehensive approach to therapy which focuses on emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and mindfulness, making it a versatile approach for addressing a wide range of needs. DBT is built on the concept of dialectics, which emphasizes the integration of opposing ideas. By combining acceptance and change strategies, DBT helps individuals develop healthier coping mechanisms, improve interpersonal relationships, and work towards building a life they find meaningful and worthwhile.
